Resolving Inflammation with Botanicals, Nutrients, and Lifestyle Changes
Today we’re talking with Dr. Lexi Loch about Inflammation. Inflammation can be life-saving and also life-threatening. The acute inflammatory response helps the body heal, defend, and repair. However, when inflammation persists without resolution, chronic inflammation ensues. Chronic inflammation is one of the biggest contributors to chronic health conditions. Prioritizing lifestyle and nutrition changes can make a huge impact, along with targeted supplementation. Curcumin with turmeric essential oil has been shown to modulate almost every inflammatory pathway in the body, while also promoting resolution of inflammation. Boswellia excels at modulating inflammation from the 5-LOX pathway, which can translate to reductions in lung, gastrointestinal, and joint inflammation. Omega-3 fatty acids are precursors to compounds called specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs), like resolvins and protectins, that help resolve inflammation.
